The subject of the Dec. 7th Innings Meeting was the revolutionary film Forks Over Knives. Note: Marilyn has loaner copies of the video if you’d like to show it to another group!
Capsule summary of the film: Forks Over Knives examines the profound claim that most, if not all, of the degenerative diseases that afflict us can be controlled, or even reversed, by rejecting our present menu of animal-based and processed foods. The major storyline in the film traces the personal journeys of a pair of pioneering yet under-appreciated researchers, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn.
Following the film, Marilyn Wall led a lively discussion session with the 30 or so attendees. Interestingly, the meeting took place during the Climate Talks in Paris. It’s too bad that the discussion there likely fails to consider the huge favorable impacts that moving the world toward a plant-based diet could have!
The above photos show some of the books that were available for members to peruse. Mike Fremont received another good once since then, entitled How Not to Die, by Michael Greger.
