This is the 100th Anniversary of Sir Ernest Shackleton’s epic traverse of South Georgia Island off the coast of Antarctica in an effort to secure help to save his stranded crew. The British Geographic Society labels this trek as “The most
dangerous trek in the world.”
This presentation will illustrate the dangerous elements and provide details of our successful four-day trek across South Georgia Island in memory of Shackleton’s trip. It should be noted that only ~ 210 trekkers have successfully made it all the way across the island.
