Over this past weekend I had the pleasure of attending Cincinnati’s first ever WordCamp, an annual conference and development meet-up for WordPress users of all skill levels.
As a Communications Intern for the Miami Group, this conference was an invaluable resource to learn more about the inner workings of WordPress. I have a website run by Weebly.com, but I soon learned that WordPress is a far superior (and free) host of websites.
The conference, held October 15th-16th at The University of Cincinnati’s Tangeman University Center, had four “tracks” of WordPress talks, such as Basic 101, How-To, Developer, and Marketing.
At no point during the conference did I feel overly intimidated or out of place as the event staff and organizers did an exceptional job making everyone feel valued and welcome.
If you live in the immediate Cincinnati area, WordPress Cincinnati hosts monthly gatherings through MeetUp.com.
If you are interested at all in learning WordPress from scratch, or further developing your website, the next meeting is Tuesday Nov. 15th in Blue Ash. The link can be found here: http://www.meetup.com/Cincinnati-WordPress-Meetup/events/234912968/?gj=co2&rv=co2
