Joshua Clyde – Sierra Club Miami Group Clean Water Fellow
I am currently a senior at the University of Cincinnati majoring in environmental studies. This is my third semester as a Sierra Club Clean Water Fellow with the Miami-group. I focus much of my work on plastic pollution issues and sewer rate issues in Cincinnati. Throughout my time with the Sierra Club I have had the chance to learn more about protecting the Earth and I have enjoyed the opportunity to pass what I have learned onto others through educational community events.
Kelsey Harrison – Outreach Intern
My name is Kelsey Harrison and I am a fourth year at the University of Cincinnati. I am working towards a dual-degree in marketing and environmental studies. I have the position as the Outreach Intern for the Sierra Club Ohio Chapter. I will be helping to plan events and activities to engage students in conservation issues and I will also be working closely with the Past Plastic Campaign. I plan to create and utilize Instagram as a new social media channel for the Ohio Chapter and work with other social media sites. I am also excited to learn about local environmental issues and to attend all the events I am able to in order to educate myself on local issues.
Monroe Trombly – Communications Intern
Monroe Trombly is a senior of Environmental Studies and Journalism at the University of Cincinnati. Born and raised in Cincinnati, he has a deep love and admiration for the culturally rich city; during high school summers he would travel to Anchorage, AK for 3-4 weeks at a time, hiking, camping, and fishing with his grandparents. Very much a news and media junkie, Monroe is an avid NPR listener, and loves to go see films as often as he can.
As the Communications Intern for the Miami Group, Monroe manages and publishes social media content, and works to expand the scope and outreach of the chapter’s campaigns, events, innings and outings.
Future career goals include the National Park Service, non-profit work, or a job that fuses journalism and environmental science together in some fashion.
