Brian Heinz is the Supervisor of Horticulture at Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum. He and his team are responsible for over 400 acres of developed, landscaped sections, as well as 300 acres of woodland. Brian started at Spring Grove in 1999, after studying horticulture at the University of Cincinnati and working four years in wholesale annual and perennial greenhouse production. This work has led Brian into several voluntary positions in the green industry, such as board member of the Ohio Invasive Plant Council, board member of the Tri-State Green Industry Conference, member of the Professional Grounds Maintenance Society, licensed Ohio Pesticide Applicator, member of the Boone County Arboretum Plant Collections Committee, and overall “plant geek”.
