Our final family camping event with Rockdale Temple took place over Memorial Day weekend at Carter Caves – and what a hit it was! Three Miami Group Outings Leaders – Nancy Ball, Holly Gage and Barry Randall – helped plan and lead the event for 10 families and over 30 participants. The 3 nights of “car” camping were preceded by two educational sessions covering camping gear, outdoor safety, food preparation and much more.
At the campout the activities included everything from day and night hikes, to owl and bat presentations, to making a dump cake, to bug collecting. Everyone, but especially the kids, had a great time. Rockdale would like to make this an annual event, and has invited Miami Group back again next year.
