Two seats open for county Soil and Water Conservation District board

Check out the candidates for Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors here. Two candidates are running, Jane Wittke and Patrick Anthony Guerra.

Jane Wittke managed planning projects for water quality, ground water protection, storm water impacts and other environmental issues in the greater Cincinnati area for more than 37 years before retiring in 2016 from the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments (OKI). She is currently Chair of the Soil and Water Conservation board.

Patrick Anthony Guerra is a scientist who has been conducting research at the interface of ecology and neuroscience for the past 20 years. Overall, his goal is to wed his research and public outreach initiatives to help produce accessible learning opportunities for members of our diverse communities, with a focus on sustainability and conservation. Patrick is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Cincinnati.

It is important to have strong environmentalists on the board. This year you can request an absentee ballot at https://www.hcswcd.org/election.html. The Hamilton County Conservation District office must receive all ballot applications and ballots by 4 PM on October 12, 2021.
