On Nov. 21st, Duke Ohio won a long-awaited ruling from the Ohio Power Siting Board to put in a 20” diameter High Pressure Natural Gas Pipeline starting in northern Hamilton County and ending in Norwood. The route goes through densely populated areas, known as high consequence areas (HCA’s). The OPSB did not factor human safety into their decision.
The project has strong local opposition: Hamilton County, the City of Cincinnati, Blue Ash, Sycamore Township, Reading, Golf Manor, Evandale and other municipalities, along with Neighbors Opposed to Pipeline Extension (NOPE) and businesses are official Interveners. They plan to appeal the decision.
