Dayton Connections followers,
The Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission Board of Directors has adopted the 2040 Long Range Transportation Plan on May 6, 2016. The plan allows for over five million dollars of funding in transportation investments over the next twenty five years. The development of this plan is required for the Miami Valley to receive federal funding for transportation projects.
The investments include projects related to roadway, regional bike way, pedestrian, transit and multi modal strategies and programs. The plan is updated every four years and can be changed due to fiscal changes in local, state or federal funding. “The 2040 Long Range Transportation Plan is a result of a coordinated, transportion planning effort…in order to implement regional transportation priorities. Our staff makes sure the final plan reflects these priorities which will benefit this Region for years to come.” says MVRPC Executive Director Brian O. Martin AICP.

Earth Day is a celebration of Spring, renewal and our commitment to ending pollution; a call to action on refusing, reducing, reusing, recycling waste and of course plastic pollution gets more notice with the screening of the movie, “Bag It”!
“Bag It” will show at Lexis Nexis’s Dayton Campus on April 22, 2016. Michele Butcher, Lexis Nexis’ “Green Team” lead will offer the opportunity to those in attendance to see this film, produced by ReelThing Productions. The film begins at noon and lasts 76 minutes.
I will answer questions afterwards. I’m told Lexis Nexis Group is very progressive in “leave no trace” measure on campus. Their paper recycling is at nearly 100 percent efficiency. Efforts are to recycle 100 percent plastic on campus also. I’ll learn more about their needs and offer information on Dayton area grants available to businesses that adopt “green” programs.
If you wish to see this movie on April 22, just call me or email me. Help us celebrate Earth Day at Lexis Nexis!
