Talking trash about Cincinnati’s ‘stealth’ fee: a forum January 6

trash cans

The average Cincinnati household spends more than $200 per year on trash disposal, yet many Cincinnatians think trash is free because they pay for it through their taxes rather than as a separate bill.

This “stealth trash fee” costs residents and the City more than it should, and is the root of several regional problems. We can replace the stealth trash fee with a “smart trash fee.” Doing so will save money, improve service, create jobs, stimulate the local economy, reduce landfill dependence, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
