The Miami Group is thrilled to welcome Melanie Arnold as our newest Outings Leader. Melanie has a great appreciation for the natural world and recognizes there are many awesome places to explore in the region. She became a Sierra Club Outings Leader to support others who are looking for more opportunities to get outside, explore, and connect with others. She feels that outings can be great opportunities to build on or pick up new skills, volunteer time to a good cause, or perhaps even nudge the boundaries of one’s comfort zone.
Although Melanie may at times find herself questioning the value of Type 2 fun while on the trail, she has been assured it is character building and will one day lead to great personal growth. And so, she continues to seek out more opportunities for backpacking, hiking, and paddling and looks forward to seeing others out on the trail.
