On April 3, the Metropolitan Sewer District released its Implementation Plan for an Impervious Surface Charge Pilot Project. Sierra Club has not yet taken a position on the plan, but some aspects of the plan are raising eyebrows.
The timeline stretches over eight years when the previous version took only three. The Plan creates a whole new permitting program that was not requested by the Commissioners or the residents. Sierra Club supports an Impervious Surface Charge, but it has to be done the right way. Tired of sewer back ups and sewer overflows? Help us persuade the County Commissioners that MSD must do better.
The full text of MSD’s implementation plan can be read here. Sierra Club’s response will be posted on our website when it is completed.
