Electricity prices continue to soar, but what can you do about it? Consider going solar through the Southwest Ohio 2026 Solar Co-op! The City of Cincinnati has teamed up with nonprofit partner Solar United Neighbors (SUN) and the City of Dayton to offer this program to residents across Southwest Ohio to help folks go solar with the guidance of the subject matter experts from SUN.
What’s a solar co-op? Imagine getting hundreds of folks together and putting out a bid announcement to solar installers saying “We want to go solar. What deal can you give us?” Through this bulk purchasing approach, the selected solar installer gets a lot of business and is able to offer the solar co-op members a discounted rate for their systems – usually about 10 percent to 20 percent cheaper than if they were to go solar on their own. Along the way, SUN provides rooftop assessments, education, and is there to answer all the questions. They get paid a flat fee and are there to ensure co-op members have an easy solar purchasing experience with a vetted installer.
Come find out all about the solar co-op, what going solar entails, and more. Bring your questions!
