Sierra Club Miami Group needs one minute of your time. Send an email to the Hamilton County Commissioners encouraging them to support reforms that improve stormwater management, reduce sewer backups, and reduce sewer overflows.
Background: For more than eight years, Sierra Club Miami Group and others have been encouraging Hamilton County to adopt an Impervious Surface Fee (ISF). The County Commissioners will be considering an ISF in the near future. They need to know that the public supports it.
The two major benefits of an ISF are:
- It gives landowners a financial incentive to manage stormwater where it falls instead of letting it run off to become someone else’s problem.
- It significantly reduces sewer bills for most residential customers of MSD. Miami Group has adopted a position paper on the ISF, which you can read here.
Take Action:
- Send an email to these addresses:

Commissioners Reece, Driehaus and Dumas,
Please support adoption of an Impervious Surface Fee for the Metropolitan Sewer District. I have reviewed the Sierra Club Miami Group position paper on the topic, and I fully support it. [Add, if true: I am a Hamilton County resident and MSD customer.]
Sincerely,
