Backpackers enjoy North Carolina trip

“I think that I will never see, a poem as lovely as a tree.” Thus begins Joyce Kilmer’s famous poem “Trees”, a fitting tribute to the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest where six Sierra Club adventurers spent a recent backpacking weekend. After visiting the beautiful old-growth forest, they spent three days enjoying the majestic views and quiet solitude of the adjacent Slickrock Wilderness.

Sierra Club offers regional backpacking experiences for all levels, beginner to expert, as well as hiking, biking and paddling outings. For all our upcoming events, checkout our Meetup page here
