Nine years ago this month, a group of eight adventurers enjoyed a Sierra Club local outing to Savage Gulf State Park in southeastern Tennessee. Within its 19,000 acres the park offers visitors 60 miles of hiking trails, grand vistas, waterfalls and historic locations. Our group braved the January cold to backpack this beautiful area over a long weekend.
