Earlier this month the Miami Group Outings Committee partnered with the Central Ohio Sierra Club, along with the Ohio State University Student Sierra Club and Friends of the Lower Olentangy Watershed to plan and lead a litter clean up along two miles of the Olentangy River Trail in Columbus.
The crisp fall weather brought out 37 volunteers of all ages who were able to collect over 1,100 lbs of trash over three hours. Everything from litter to tires — even a ping pong table — were collected for proper disposal.
The Central Ohio Sierra Club is ramping up its outings program, and Miami Group Outings Leaders were happy to provide an assist.
