Mami Group Outings Committee led two backpacking trips on a recent October weekend, both to the Big South Fork National Recreation Area. The first was a less strenuous trip to the Yahoo Falls region of Kentucky, targeting participants interested in a more leisurely trip. The second headed for the Rock Creek Loop area of Tennessee, a more advanced trip that included the Hidden Passage trail of Pickett State Park.
In all, a dozen adventuresome participants enjoyed the spectacular arches, rock houses, waterfalls and dramatic overlooks over the beautiful fall weekend.
