Panthertown Valley, the ‘Yosemite of the East’ — Thursday, April 15, 2021

Join us for a virtual tour of this treasured 6,311-acre backcountry recreation area located in Nantahala National Forest in western North Carolina. Panthertown has long been known for its deep gorges and broad valleys, mountain bogs and granite rock domes, tranquil creeks and plunging waterfalls – all reminiscent of the iconic Yosemite.

This presentation will provide an overview and history of this unique backpacking destination, as well as trip planning tips on trailheads, trails, campsites and our favorite scenic highlights.

Presented by Barry Randall.
