The advent of GPS navigation tools has made easy for us to find our way in just about any terrain. But what happens when your navigation device batteries die, dense fog interferes with its connection, or it gets lost or damaged in the backcountry? This is part one of a two-part workshop to help you polish up on your navigation skills using a map and compass. This first session will focus on the compass itself. There will be a “homework” assignment and an opportunity for you to practice on your own. Next week’s workshop will focus on reading a topo map and using it in conjunction with a compass.
This event is part of our Virtual Outings series! Join us on August 27th, 2020 at 7:30 PM.
You will need a Baseplate Compass in hand for this workshop.
