Your voice could make the difference at City Hall

On Tuesday, August 4 at 10 AM, City Council’s Climate, City Services and Infrastructure Committee is expected to vote on a Resolution, sponsored by Council Member Meeka Owens and others, supporting the rapid adoption and implementation of an impervious surface charge (ISC). Sierra Club members will attend the meeting to speak in support of the resolution, and to show support by their presence.

Each additional supporter increases the chances that the ISC will become a reality. You can read SCMG’s position paper on the ISC here.

SCMG strongly supports the ISC because it gives large landowners a financial incentive to keep their stormwater out of the sewers, thereby reducing sewer overflows into rivers and streams and reducing sewer backups into homes.
